Papillon Pebbles began with a simple belief: that remembrance should be gentle, personal, and beautifully understated. After experiencing the enormity of child loss myself, I created the very first pebble to give comfort to me and my family.

The quiet dignity of that pebble, the way it held so much love in something so simple, is what led me to create Papillon Pebbles. I wanted other families to have the same gentle way to remember their loved one.

About Papillon Pebbles

How are they made?

Each pebble is handcrafted in the UK in porcelain clay. They are then kiln fired with your unique image - a photo, a footprint, a handprint, or any symbol that represents your loved one. The image is sent digitally to me, so it never leaves your care. Every pebble becomes a one-of-a-kind memorial, created with empathy, privacy and respect.

What makes Papillon Pebbles different is not just the craftsmanship, but the understanding behind it. I know how delicate these memories are. I know how important it is to feel seen, supported, and understood. And I know that remembrance doesn’t need to be loud or decorative - it can be quiet, simple, and deeply meaningful.

Whether you are honouring a family member or a cherished friend, Papillon Pebbles offers a way to keep their presence close. A small, elegant reminder of a life loved deeply.

How does it work?

  • "My daughter gave me this beautiful stone with my late wife, Mary’s picture on it. I have had it for over three years and it still looks as good as the day it was given to me. I find it very comforting and keep it on my work desk all the time where it is in constant view and sometimes take it with my on work duties as it fits in my briefcase very easily. It really is a lovely memento of my wonderful wife."

  • "I adopted Missy, a 5 month old grumpy rescue who didn’t play well with others, 13 years ago. She had been close to death when she had been abandoned. We were inseparable from day one as I cared for her and she cared for me throughout illness and many surgeries. She judged others horribly, but stayed by my side loyally. I miss her chirps, our chats, her pert tail and her unreasonable demands. She was truly my familiar. "

  • "Papillon Pebbles are not only beautifully crafted and presented, but have become a gentle companion through my most important moments especially my journey of grief. Carrying one, or both, with me brings warmth in the moments I feel vulnerable, or simply miss my loving parents. Thank you Sarah for considering and understanding the physical aspect of holding grief xx"
